If I'm understanding your intentions correctly, what you could do is use the parallel out from the pedal into your amp, while sending the DI from the engaged pedal to the FOH.

I'm gonna be picking up one of these boxes tomorrow for a whopping price of $60!!

The DI works whether the pedal is on or not. The parallel output is mainly intended to send to a tuner, it doesn't get any of the effected signal. Although it does work for sending a clean signal to another amp.
IMO there's nothing special about the DI when the pedal is off. The whole point of the pedal is to use the eq to shape your tone.

Mine is always on when I play live. I dial in the distortion blend around 10 o'clock and the gain at 12 o'clock. The EQ is usually like 1, 12, 1. I run my amp more or less flat. I never use the clean setting on this. If I wanna be clean, I just bypass it entirely.
Actually, that's a lie!
I practice in my bedroom through a Fender Pro Jr, which is a guitar amp with a single tone knob. If I put the bass through this first, I can make it sound huge and bass-amp-like, despite the limitations of the amp.
I use this as a bass boost and a sometimes DI box. As a bass boost it is fantastic, but I gave up on the distortion after a short while. I may go back and have a play to see if I can get a useable tone out of it. I might even chuck it in my effect loop so that I can get the DI post-preamp.
I'm picking one up again this weekend, to me they are the ultimate everythings blown up and I need to get my sound to the soundman box to have in your gig bag.

I picked one of these guys up this weekend and I already know this thing is gonna stay on my board. I'm not too fond of the distortion channel at the moment but I might grow to like it. This pedal saved my lonely jazz bass from getting tossed out the window. I'm loving the color knob on this thing!!
I don't like the color button on the clean channel, too scooped on my P bass and Jazz fretless, but the EQ works well when needed. I tend to start with the EQ flat and add what's needed for the room. I let the sound guy have a clean signal as possible.
On the distortion I put the blend at 10:00 and gain between 10:00 and 12:00 depending on what sound I'm after. This keeps the bottom end in the mix but you still hear the distortion on top.

So if I put the M-80 in my effects loop and then use it as a DI, it will send the mixture of the pedal's EQ as well as the preamp EQ from my head?
I have a GL L2000 tribute too. I also have a M80 which has been mentioned here, it's a great pedal and has been the heart of my board and essential for gigging in my old band. Currently I'm using it so I don't have to take an amp to rehearsals.
