I know most of the guys of the double bass side of TB, hate or don't interested Aguilar gear. I have an AG 500 SC with GS 112 cab. The rig is very new for me, just gigged 3 times with it. Must to say, for my electric bass, the rig sounds incredible good, the best what ever tired in my life, but see the most important thing here, the URB. 2 of the three gigs was in difficult acoustic situation, but not loud gigs. Amp sounds, very nice, with a lot of warmth, but clean. I can say, it sounds like my bass, not like my pickup. The cab is maybe mid scooped, but who like the contour knob on the GK amps, will like it. I think the GS 112 not as mid scooped as some of the popular small cabs mid forwarded. You can get more definition with a hint of tweeter use, I really hate tweeters, especially for URB but this tweeter sounds absolutely natural and not harsh. The EQ was almost flat on the gigs, just a slight treble cut and a minimal bass boost I used. The low mid and the high mid Eq not very useful, because the bandwidth too narrow. I think a parametric mid unit ( like Aguilar Tone Hammer ) to the effect loop could worth. I find the amp has enough definition, to intonate and here myself on the stage. I think AG 500 SC is a fantastic amplification for double bass too.
