No, not in a good way. There's something weird going on with my G&L l2000 tribute that I can pinpoint. I'll be taking her to a luthier Monday if I haven't figured it out during the weekend, so thought I'd ask you guys first.
Everything sounds muddy and non-defined. There's really not much tone, just a load of thump. Sustain is really bad, espcially on the E-string. Yeah, bad sustain on an L2000 with flats!
The A string has way better sustain though. This has been getting worse over the last month. Battery has been changed and I've tested without having a battery at all. Tried lowering pickups in case the strong magnetic field was messing with sustain. No dice. Haven't really tried raising the action yet, but I doubt that would do much (?)
I'm going out now to get some fresh round wounds and see if that changes anything.
Any ideas? I really have no idea whether this is a setup or electronics issue.
