yeah this is off topic, but the incident was in "amps"

I had a question about underpowering, and it quickly became about how terrible the emperor cab guys are and how my 2x12/1x15 will be. IMO emperor must have found a way to make it work because they have pics of many mismatched setups that they build.
I got pissed off about people not just giving me advice on the original question and such, and I should have kept my cool.
My AA sponsor says that 85% of my problems are not really MY problem and I needed to remember that. instead of argue i should just say DGAF and do what I want instead of try to convince someone that what I do is perfect.

I'll probably still order a mismatch, but I'm by no means ignoring the counter advice.
I think emperor is awesome, you can disagree, but I shouldn't care one way or another.

I don't know what thread you're talking about but...

In many situations, just because they have pictures of mis-matched cabs doesn't mean they'll work all that well. It's marketing. They position things that will look good since you can't hear anything through a picture.

I doubt anyone seriously cares if you want mis-matched cabs. Most people on here are trying to help by passing on knowledge they've gained both through experience and study. If you don't want to listen and learn, that's up to you.

Proving only that he knows no more than the OP does of how speakers work. There's nothing wrong with that; he's never claimed to be an acoustical engineer. He still seems to have squeezed by without that bit on his resume. :smug:

I bet he's never written a resume in his life! :D

Seriously though, bass player is one of the few professions that you don't need any technical certification to act like you know what you're doing. ;) Many soundmen fall into the same category.

I always think when we start talking about mixed drivers, what we're doing in "professional" terms is discussing 'best practices', which is a fun business catch phrase that often comes up in the conference room. Can you mix drivers? Yes. Can it work? Yes. Does it always? No. Does it often? No. In all sorts of occupations and settings people have put their minds to the best way to do something for the least amount of difficulty or trouble down the line; for the best possible pay-off. This is one of those cases.
