My Bass got is busted?

Hey all

I bought a fender jazz deluxe MIA just a little over half a year ago, it plays fine up till now, I left it on a guitar stand on Sunday after practice in my room and on Thursday it stopped working, no sound or what so ever, not even response from the magnets. So I thought to myself humm maybe its the batteries, so I went out and bought some new 9v batteries and still no luck. And I checked my amp with my other bass and the amp works fine, so it gotta be the bass. Could my bass electronics be burned out? I really have no clue, are there things I should be checking for? I try to search for any known issues with the particular model, but have no luck.


edit: found out its a soldering problem, a blue wire is lose from the input jack (my guess) got a few pics here for people to see. The question is where should I solder it back on to?

You mean like "I bought a fender jazz deluxe MIA just a little over half a year ago", which could mean its a USA Fender, Deluxe Series, Jazz Bass, probably 08/09 era....


Yeah, sounds like a bad solder joint, take off the control plate and see if everything looks ship shape.

The model is but think its a fender jazz deluxe with the noiseless pick ups, I am not too sure the year though as mentioned in the first thread

ya tried it on a few different cables and it works fine for my other bass, but not my fender

Thanks for everyone's help so far

I just opened the electronics, and it seems to have a lose blue wire coming from the input jack. So ya I think its a broken solder, now my second question, where does that blue wire belong to and where should I solder it back onto? one end is connected to the electronics and the other end seems to connect with the input jack before it came off but I"m not too sure
