My dad’s bass

Hello! I am new to this forum but have read many of the threads and find them so interesting and helpful.

A few years back, I inherited my dad’s bass. He was quite the musician. The information within the bass is as follows:
Johan Rauner
7Bassemachet
Bet Purmberg, Getmamp
169

I also have the accompanying bow. it is unmarked but from my understanding, it is also German made.

I am hoping other bass musicians on this thread can teach me more about my dad’s bass. It really should be played, as it was meant to be, so I am thinking of parting ways with it.
