Congratulations on your first RIC oh Caballero Verde! The '23 and later 4003s do indeed have much thinner necks than any you could find for years. They can be addicting though...he-he. Again...congrats!

Congrats! Just curious... do you feel comfortable using automobile polishing compound to buff out the scuffing? I've done this on every bass at one point or another. They get scratched etc. and I either lightly wet sand first (with high grit) and then polish, or just polish.
I forgot I also had a 4005AC for a few minutes—i got in a trade—but that just made we want a classic model.

Yeah the pull pot for the vintage tone is like a whole other bass. Instant Mike Mills sound! It’s hard to get bored of it. With this as my other bass, the only classic passive tone I’m missing is a Jazz.
Don’t you know that these are the worst basses ever? The body hurts your arm, the bridge is unusable, the truss rod can’t be adjusted, they are ergonomic nightmares, they fall apart and the company hates you.
