My New Fishbone 6

main body wood is walnut
top is flamed maple and leopard wood
fingerboard is ebony
neck laminations are maple, wenge, and bubinga
pickups are Lane Poor (purchased about 15 years ago)
electronics are proprietary Fishbone
bridge is patented proprietary Fishbone and contributes to the amazing tone and sustain

How much does that bass weigh? I remember your last Fishbone at the GTG last March, and I'm sure your new one is a great bass too!

Cool string retainers cascading down the back of the bass. Lane Poors rock, cool that you were able to use them in that bass. I miss talking to Lane, I guess it has been nearly 16 years since then.

I have not weighed her, but I would guess around 10 pounds.

The bridge is clearly unique. Each piece is 9/16" solid brass, with a fine pitched thread. There is a sliding saddle on top of each to allow intonation adjustment. It is locked with a set screw.

The bridge pieces screw into brass tubing which are embedded deeply into the wood. Half turns raise and lower the string.

The sustain and clarity is quite remarkable.
