My "new" Magnatone Amps

Hello,

I'm new here.......any idea what a Magnatone 32 AND (yes, I acquired BOTH!!) Magnatone 35 amp(s) might be worth? Both are in great working, order.....I paid $350 for each and hope I got a good deal. These things are heavy in weight!

Thanks.

Did'nt know Magnatone made bass amps. I know Duane Eddy used to play out of one in the early days. They were supposed to have had " true " vibrato.

Never seen one of those but their Starlet model for skinny string...that puppy sings! Very no nonsense spank tone. Your 35 seems to be lots of bells and whistles. How does she sound?

When I was in high school, the Magnatone amp factory was just a few miles from where I lived.

One of the local bands had an endorsement deal, so I always got to see the "latest & greatest" offerings. Some of those amps were HUGE. (Or at least seemed so to this impressionable teenager.) One of the unique features of the skinny-string amps was a true vibrato circuit, as opposed to the "vibrato" (actually tremolo) in Fender amps.

Magnatone also made guitars. I played one back in the day, but don't remember much about it.

And the M32 looks pretty much the same.......and weighs the same at 105 lbs!!

Great tone and vibrato if that's your thing....any ideas what these are worth?

I'm going back to check out some other bass heads and cabs today....Trace Elliot rack mount head....Acoustic... and a few others I can't recall.

Thanks!

I had one! It was a bright-red Magnatone Tornado. It looks similar to a strat, but with cool-looking white slider switches that matched the white pick guard. It's long-gone, but fondly remembered!

I had the very same guitar. Kinda a light metallic to the red...nice neck...wish I still had it...(not that I really can play a guitar...too many strings, ya' know! :D )
