My New Wishbass

Yup I know all the stuff about the "controversy" and mixed opinions about Wishbass, but I just received this baby today. I am blown away at the tone, feel and overall playabiltity of this bass. For $300 its probably some of the best money ive spent.

The action is like...perfect. I am really amazed at the quality. Yes there are some odd inconsistancies in the finish but its not as bad as some say. The body construction is solid as hell but the sound is really full and sweet. I am going to rip the emg select out and probably stick an SD quarterpounder in there and then it will be uber. Anyone considering one, its definitely worth the cheap pricetag.

I just recieved mine in the mail and the action is no joke about half an inch off the fret board.

i LOVE wishbasses- but i wouldent dream of actually bringing one into the studio..thats where the $3600 basses come out to play.

but for an inexpencive custom bass, wish is the best option. they a unique thing, and no other builders can do what he does.

i thought he was planning on closing his shop, btw? hopefully ill have time to order a singlecut fretless 6..

anyway, enjoy your new toy.

Wow, I slobbered over this one when it was on Ebay and regretted not getting it. I am glad you like it - it looks killer. I do own a nice curly maple Lobe 4 string and now that it has half-round strings on it, it plays awesome. About the only thing I did was whittle the nut and bridge a tiny bit to bring the strings down a tad. I plan to completely strip, sand and oil it when I am done refinishing my Hyper. I love the zebrawood thing - so much so I ordered a Fantasy in zebrawood (unfinished) just a couple of weeks ago - can't wait. Anyway, the nay-sayers just don't get it. Thanks for the pix ...
