I answered a classified a few weeks ago and now it looks like I've hooked up with a pretty cool band.
The drummer is the guy driving the band and we rehearse at his place.
The original idea was to do some '70s - '90s r&b and funk. A keyboard player and a guitarist also answered the ad. The guitarist brought his brother, a singer, to the next rehearsal and I think that pretty much locked us into where we want to be. We are strying a bit from the original concept of an r&b focus. I actually find that kinda cool, because every week I'm playing stuff that either I've heard before, but never thought about playing, or stuff that I'd never even heard before. I'm enjoying the stretch. We're still doing some r&b, but we've added some rock, and a little bit of pop.
Oughta be a blast. More as this scene develops.
