What's wrong with a gloss finish?

It was just too bright and in your face with this color. I like how this in effect, muted it some.

I am happy with the results i got. Thanks for all the compliments. I think i will actually keep this guard shiny and find a parchment and gold or black ano pg

Looks great! I love satin bodies on instruments.
Did you just use the regular green scocthbrite pads?

It was just regular green scotchbright pads. They didnt really take that long to eat through the clear. But it does it nicely

Just kidding. I don't have a prob with gloss, depends on the bass. I am more gloss than matte, but I am not a fan in any gloss/matte finish of fiesta red... just my personal preference. So, maybe that looks better in matte.

yea i would agree. Some colors i think would look better matte. My candy apple red 70 jazz, not so much. I would do it to a gloss black bass, maybe LPB

Just a looks thang for some people, and they often feel kind of sticky and the shine tends to be uneven on an instrument that gets a lot of use. But as you can see, a lot of folks just like a matte finish better. Especially on computer screens.
