okay last thing im gonna mention about my stupid bass, (afterthoughts r' us) thumb rests are really sweet feeling for doing string pops while in a regular plucking position (for me at least) i used to rest on the top of the pickups most of the time but it can be nice to be able to get behind the string more easily. i used to not really mess with string pops unless i was in slapping stance but more recently ive come into instances while putting bass lines to riffs my associates bring to the table where i want to place a pop in the midst of a plucked run, and this configuration helps me do that so meh!

god i just looked at how poorly the angle of my picture showcases the bass' features, and this is compounded by the fact that the neck thumb rest is also recessed into the bass a little ways so i dont blame you for thinking it looked silly/stupid. i would wager that probably any of you would feel differently if you were holding it because what it may lack to you aesthetically it kicks back in b@da$$ery and feel
you would lose that wager to most bassists. There is nothing badass about prosthetic tumors sticking out of the body, particularly if you’re well trained in the various floating hand techniques.

If you genuinely enjoy threads like this, reddit has the r/roastme section I’d wager on you liking to post in often.
