My wife doesn't listen to me...

A few nites ago I was doing finger warm up exercises when my wife walks in a turns on the T.V. to MTV classics to watch Rock Block. Well a crappy pop song from a band/ person I've never heard of had their crap video on. After aboot 10 seconds I figured out the entire song and started playing a old school R&B, funk groove to it. My wife was " That does not sound like the METAL stuff you usually play. I replied " Baby, remember you asked me why I was listening to modern blues and old school R&B? And I said there is only so much you learn from the bassist of Overkill?" This happens aboot once a month( with me replacing a crappy metal band bassist ). I sure there's at least 7 other bass players out in TB land that has similar situations.

What's the best wife for metal?

My wife thinks I listen to Metallica all day and that I suck on bass (and many other things) because she thinks I listen to Metallica all day....and absolutely hates that I have basses at all...
When i was still young enough to know everything, an old graybeard biker told me if you want to have a wife and a scooter, get the bike first.
I think that applies to a lot more than just motorcycles.

I've had guitars since I was in 6th it or 7th grade, basses since freshman in college. All before the woman.
I believe she believes there's no sense of me having them if "I suck at it", and that I should just read more books...
