MY WISHBASS HAS ARRIVED!!

I still need to finish it. Plays great other wise, oh yeah I will replace the pick up.

Acoustically this thing sings, it has a really nice muwah to it. Ive heard alot of good and bad things about these necks, I like em. I prefer Jazz bass style necks, but this neck is an exceptio, it feels like an upright neck, I think it even adds to the tone.
I told mr wish to leave the pickup out so i can put my own in it, he didnt, but these select emgs are not bad. The action was pretty low so I had to stick some risers under the floating bridge to raise it. Havent decided on a finish yet. Ill try to put some clips up eventually.

I'll just say it because it's late and I've had a few...That bass is an eyesore. It has a couple elements that I actually like, because I've seen them work on other basses...think a Zon with the deep cut or Ampeg scroll. But when combined, I gotta laugh.

I know they are cheap and suppose to be campy/kitsch (at least here on talkbass)... but honestly, I'd rather just have my gas tank full for a few months.

wishbasses are full of flaws, playable to a certain extent. the longer fingerboard does nothing for me. I only got this made so I could do a finishing project, and also have a fretless to play around with a bit.

Good Luck with your new bass and have fun.

When you finish it, make sure you give it a good sanding at least to 220 grit to remove rough edges, fingerprints and glue. If you are finishing it without spraying it, use a wipe-on product. The True -Oil or Tung oil for Home Depot may be fine. Apply it, wipe it off and let dry a day. Then get 0000 steel wool and rub it out and apply/wipe on another coat. Do this for 4 or 5 times to build up the finish. You may want to remove his sticker because the finish can't penitrate the plastic.

I am sure the pickup will sound fine.

You may also want to look into a floating bridge like that you would see on a Hofner Bass. This way you can adjust the height and intonation as you wish.
