Mystery Jazz Bass body identification

Hi guys,
Do you think this Jazz Bass body was made by Fender? It's got an unusual hole through the neck pocket. Poly 3 tone sunburst (on alder?)
It's 1 5/8" thick, and Fender Pure Vintage parts fit on it.
If it's not a Fender, then what do you think it might be?

The hole through the neck pocket should be one of the best clues, I'd imagine?

Is there anything else I could measure or photograph that may help?

I might be wrong, but I'm gonna say no, it's not made by Fender.

Aren't Fender bodies usually stamped?

I'm thinking MIM 60's reissue.
Its clearly a production body: those dissimilar shaped pickup cavities, mismatched woodgrain on lower piece, and messy buffing compound, wouldn't be botiuque or small craft company.
That paint job, especially in the neck pocket is totally assembly-line paint job.

Fwiw, here's a couple of photos of the pickups and controls. I can only assume that they are factory parts.

The pots are smaller than CTS versions, and are 500k and split shafts.

The bridge pickup is about a 1/4" longer than the neck.

Looks like a typical Fender MIM Jazz body to me. They have that neck pocket hole, it just doesn't go all the way through. So, someone was playing with it and punched through.
Could be wrong though, I'm no expert.

Mexican Jazz bodies have an extra hole under the pickguard, and the neck pickup routes are much, larger than the size of the pickup. This doesn’t look like a fender to me.

Sometimes they have hole in the neck pocket but they don’t go all the way through.

Would be stamped if Fender. Some manufacturers including some Fender models have tilt adjust that utilizes a hole similar to that.

The Standard MIM models do.
But the 60s reissue ones made in the 2000's were different and didnt have all the extra holes or trench. I had two of them but that was like 15-17 years ago, they were much closer to the US 62RI.

You mean the classic 60s series? Mine had the hole under the pickguard, but not the trench.

I was told it was a Fender body from the second owner, but have no proof.

Btw, this is the pickguard that was on it when I bought it. It's a little more red than the Pure Vintage tort, and it's a 3 ply with only 10 holes. (Plus the tug bar and neck pickup cover holes)
