Myths: is truth that...??

Unrepresented said:
Early Rickenbacker 4001's are filled with a delicious chocolate center and require just a well placed hammer blow to reveal a tasty treat.

That's not true? :(

To think of all the wasted hours and days spent stalking the classifieds to find one. Damn I had one hell of a sweet tooth too.

Yes it IS! At least a lot of the tone is in your hands. Ain't no myth about it.

Here's a myth: playing simple country bass is easy. heh, not if you want it to sound right and have some expression. Sometimes "simple" is the hardest thing of all.

+2. there's a reason there are so many approaches to fingerstyle. Attack, placement, muting, and good technique make a world of difference in tone.

Playing some country bass is easy... ish. Playing most of it well is like pop - a lot harder than it looks. IMO.

It's not necessarily IN your hands, but WHERE your hands are and WHAT they do. Tone does not come from the hands, or else you'd be playing your hands and not the bass. HOWEVER, the right technique with your hands does a whole lot more than the right pickup.

Myth: Slap bass is only for show

Reality: Only at Guitar Center
