sorry about the n00bness of this question. I just recently bought a svt 4 pro and I have an ampeg 810 with just a speaker cable input on it. What input should I plug my speaker cable into on the svt4 pro?

n00b question about svt4 pro w/ 810

Well, considering you play with Tom Kelly, I will help you out. 
You will want to construct a custom cable that has 1+ leading to the top of a 1/4" jack, and 2+ leading to the sleeve of a 1/4" jack. Set the amp up in bridge mode and connect this connector into output labeled "Bridge/Mono."
Go down to Burlington Guitar & Amp and they should be able to make a cable for you.

Do you have a 1/4" speaker cable or a speakon speaker cable?

I am guessing this is a pre-2000 810E with the single 1/4" jack. I don't believe Ampeg ever made one with only one Speakon connection only.
I will add that in the mean time you can run in stereo mode from only one half of the amp - just plug a 1/4" speaker cable into either the hi or low output of the amp. This won't give you full volume, but at least it will be usable in the meantime.
Well, when you buy an svt-4 there is a calbe in the box, one end is a speakon connector and the other end is a normal 1/4 jack, the cable is labeled mono-bridge.
you plug the speakon end in the head, where it is written mono bridge, you then plug the other end of the calbe into the 8x10. if it's an old 8x10 you'l have only one input, if it's a newer one you'll have three inputs,
making this pattern

Also make sure that on the back of the head the mono bridge button is pressed in.

It sounds like he doesn't have the cable (maybe a used head?) - otherwise why would he post the question? I am making the assumption he doesn't have the cable.
