Name those strings!!!!

I met someone that just picked up an '81 Kramer Pioneer A plate with fender headstock. He loves the strings that are on it, but has no clue as to what brand they are. He called the previous owner who said they were probably about 20 yrs old and had no idea what brand he used to use.

So.... They are round wounds, with silver ball ends , and gray silk at the tuning peg end of the string.. Any ideas what brand they might be ?

I figured there has to be a string guru around here with a guess. There were only a few string manufacturers 20 years ago right?

Thanks in advance.

Bobby

GHS steel rounds.

btw, there are only a few string manufacturers today. Most of the so called boutique strings are just rebadged GHS, Dean Markley, La Bella, or Daddario strings.

..or DR, Dunlop, SIT, or Rotosound...all of which make their own strings.

Fodera is a boutique brand who actually makes their own, but I don't think they OEM to any other companies.
