I bought this off the guitarist I play with in a few bands. Not a bass, but still some low end.
It's a Squier Paranormal Baritone Cabronita Telecaster..... I'll just call it Barry.

He got it a while back but didn't really get into it.
I asked to borrow it for a few days to see if it would be something I'd enjoy.... and so far it's a lot of fun. I sat down last night at around 10pm to just have a quick play and next thing I know it's midnight.
It's a 27" scale currently tuned in B standard but I'm going to see how it goes as A standard. Might need some larger gauge strings.
Wish I had it in our last band that just recently finished up. It would have been perfect for some songs to play the bass line and fill some sonic space with chords while the guitarist solos.

Already swapped the white guard for a dodgy home made black three-ply and might refinish it in a colour (black) that I prefer.

It's okay if I'm playing by myself, but if I'm jamming with others, I have to transpose the key on the fly, or use a capo, which kind of defeats the purpose. But every time I hear a baritone, usually but not limited to country music, I like the sound. Been trying to sell the bari but the market is limited.

That's a cool Tele bari though. Enjoy it.

I have an Oly white / maple baritone Tele 27" as well but traditional T pickups. It's so much fun to play.

Last night I tuned it to A and it's not too floppy.
So far i'm finding that it's easier (for my brain) to transpose than in B standard. I just have to look at a note or chord and think a fifth up....see a G, play a D.... see a C, play a G. It seems to work for my brain better than thinking of a fourth up for some reason.

I'm not actually a fan of the colour, particularly when it had the stock white guard. I've got some black pickup covers ordered and I'll wait to see how I like it before thinking of a refinish.

The pickups seem OK. A bit brittle on the high end which can override the bass notes a bit but dropping the treble side helped a bit.

Baritones are fun and incredible idea generators. I just restrung my Dano in B with LaBella Jazz Flats. It finally sounds and plays how I want. The Cabronitas are cool, enjoy it.

I recorded a quick little thing. I'm not very good at guitar these days so it's pretty basic but I do like it for atmospheric style playing.
I used my new SDrum pedal for percussion that I got from Santa. They are really quite cool for just noodling around.
I have found that it's easy to press too hard and pull the string out of tune a bit which is why I went back to B standard tuning. A Standard was just a bit too loose. I'm going to try and find some heavier strings but they are not exactly common.

I'm running through a Katana 50EX using reverb, delay, a little bit of chorus and tremolo going out of the line out straight into the desk.

Yeah, this Squier is pretty well built. It's also had a full setup including fret level, the pots have been replaced and I did a shielding job on it when my guitarist first bought it, so it's in good playing shape.

I would have liked to have gotten a Gretsch Baritone as the scale is just under 30" so I'd probably be able to get it down to A or even G quite comfortably. They even have a model with a Bigsby and the baritone sound just screams out for that kind of thing.
Could even use Bass VI strings on the Gretsch and probably get E standard tuning without too much floppiness, but I got this Squier for less than half the price the Gretsch costs. For something that will never be a main instrument I couldn't quantify spending the extra money.
