Always wanted a Shergold since the first time I saw Peter Hook with one, not to mention Mike Rutherford and Clive Mitten (of Twelfth Night, but his was a 6 that I *really* wanted).
This one popped up relatively locally, and I couldn't resist.
It's feather light, and sounds wicked. More Rickenbacker growl than PBass thump.
The finish is all messed up, with lots of checking, which is apparently common for these. The original stereo electronics are long gone, which again is common. But it's a fantastic bass with an interesting history, they were related to Hayman and the body designs remind me of Wal to some extent.
I can't stop playing Rush on it for some reason.
