NBD: 2015 Fender Am Std JB

I just received this yesterday. This makes JB number two in my collection. The other JB is a fretless. I didn't know what to expect with the color when I ordered it. It's Mystic Red and I added the Tort guard. It came with a white guard. I may go back to the white guard. The jury is still out. Of course it has a hard case with it, but I prefer the Blues Reunion case when gigging. The color has some small flake in it. I'll be gigging it tomorrow night.

That's a beuty!! I don't know how the white looked, but the tort looks great to me! (Even though I have to admit I'm redeveloping a long lost fondness for white pearloid).

Keep the tort, IMO. Looks great. I had a similar one, but mine was Candy Cola. I think any red like that (ie., Mystic, Candy Cola, Candy Apple Red, etc.) looks great with brown tort as long as it has a rosewood board. With a maple board, I prefer a black guard. Here's my old Candy Cola (which I no longer have).

Since you mentioned it, I did put the White PG back on it. I'll gig it tomorrow that way.

I like the tort pick guard, but were it me, I'd tried to get a maple fretboard. With pearloid blocks!

The bass will sound better with a Tort guard. (it's been scientifically tested) Whats with WHITE Fender?? The only other option for me would be biege/creme or black. nice bass congrats. And it has graphite neck rods too. (Ask Lomo)

I was really unsure about getting a Mystic Red, though it is actually quite a classy colour - not a garish as I thought it would be.

congratulations on the bass: really nice looking instrument. i'm drawn to blacks and browns, sunbursts, etc., but that one is pretty!
