NBD 2021 75th Anniversary Jazz Bass

So this past Sunday I had a customer at The House of Guitars and they tried just about every Jazz Bass in the store, they eventually settled on a Vintera 70s Jazz, it was a lengthy process but we had a lot of fun. One bass that stood out to me was a NOS 2021 75th Anniversary Jazz Bass that for whatever reason I had never really noticed before, once we plugged it in it sounded like something special, turns out it comes equipped with 60's spec pickups. Later in the day when it had quieted down I spent a bit of time with the bass and I really was impressed, nice and light, it felt and sounded great. Once I did a quick set up on it I knew it was coming home. I love the silver finish and matching headstock, I might put a tort guard on it but this may be one of the few times when tort isn't the answer.

Not that my opinion counts here, but the black pickguard really pops on that bass. Congratulations on the new bass.

I like the black guard, but the “naked” look may be a good option on this one.

Considering the color and the matching headstock, going PGless may give you a more modern look.
Could be interesting…

As a tort lover, I like the black on this bass, especially with maple fingerboard. The rosewood is what makes it work on @Relsom 's bass.

Mine was equipped with a white pearl pg.... It was nice, but I like the tort on it more. Like @MechaSparky said...bc of the rosewood. I don't recall looking when I had the guard off if the stash hole was there, which if so, would make the naked option a no-go.

Its weird that the photos make these out as more silver, though mine is closer to shoreline gold with a bit more sparkle in real life. That's what I like about it. Shoreline Gold has become my favorite bass color in the last couple of years. It looks especially good on a Jazz.

I wouldn't mind finding a deal on one of these in its stock form. I like the look of the maple fb w/matching headstock every bit as much as my parts Jazz, though the feel of the Pro II neck is stellar.

Congrats on the new bass, a real stunner! If this is turning into a poll, I'd have to go with the pop that the black one brings.

I have the Precision version of that Anniversary Mexican Series. It is an outstanding bass. Diamond Champaign finish is gorgeous, the maple fingerboard has flame, it's loud and resonant.... it's a series of Fender instruments where the raised the bar considerably.

The Diamond finish looks gold or silver, depending on the light. Champaign is better description of the gold color.

Change the pick guard if you want. Black looks great, tort, too.

Anybody care to chime in where these Ps and Js fall weightwise? My Jazz with the Pro II neck is just under 9lbs.. 8lb. 15oz., which is perfectly acceptable to me. Darn how looking at these stirs up the GAS. Having one of each would be some kinda schnazzy.
