Congrats. I had a 4001 for about 34 years. It was a great bass.

You need one of the Treble Bezels to infill the gap around the bridge pup. I guess the brand new ones come with it standard. Nice bass, can't beat classic Tuexdo black.

I'm using that older YYZ, along with my '18 4003S, but I may gedding some of that Schmegilka from my dUg pedal, in green mode.
The YYZ has that real nice Ged overdrive, but I add in mostly some compression with the DP-3X, plus it has a built in tuner.
(I'm so elated with the sound I get now, that I keep putting off my ShapeShifter curiosities )

I'll bet that ShapeShifter, along with your new Rick is gonna be tons of cool

Thanks! I forgot to mention I ended up buying this from Wildwood guitars , I was referred there by someone online and those guys know rics pretty good they did a great setup on it for me!

You’d have to try one for yourself since like most people say “you love them or you hate them” the neck profile may seem odd compared to say a P bass or j bass if that’s what you’re used to, I dig it myself but it’s not for everyone or if you plan on buying one and can’t try it in person, get one with a return policy so you can return it if you don’t like it, otherwise play as many as you can!
