NBD: '50s Precision

$425? Did you know the seller? Was it your uncle?
Nope. Came on kijiji Wednesday night for $500. I asked some questions via email and threw out $425 saying to him this is my lowball opener. He accepted based on it being a 180 mile round trip for me. He was happy to move it so fast. Great fella too. Showed me his telecaster he relic'ed; awesome.

He also had a cool Fender Precision Junior for sale. I didn't even know such a thing existed. It was very cool. Played really nice. If my wife wasn't with me I may have secretly bought it and took it to my office to tool around on. I'll have to look up on the specs on that puppy but it felt less than 30".

Al you guys singing the praises of this series are simply correct. After a few tweaks, relief cut in half, new strings, intonation, fine tune action and omg.

The resonance and life in this is wonderful. Just like my 1962 Jazz. Hold a note and it sings, mute a note and it's as if the body stays alive waiting to make the next attack explode. But I'm just grazing the strings. The pickup is thick and ballsy.

Ok yeah, it's a nice bass. ;). I'm now officially in love with the color. When anybody comments on the color I will say it sounds as good as it looks!

Do not hesitate to seek one out whatever the color.

Haters gonna hate...Fiesta Red is great. I like it with a white guard, but it's probably one of the only colors I like with a white guard!

Very cool bass T-Bird. My main bass is 50's in sunburst. Been playing it for three years now. Week after week it never lets me down. Love that bass, the fat neck, the vintage frets the sweet tone. I named it Fudge for the sweet dark tone. When I bought it I played it head to head with an American Standard and liked the 50's better.
I have it strung with D'addario half rounds, the fattest version they make.
Just one thing. Has anyone else had problems with the pots on these. I have cleaned my pots thoroughly with DeoxIT several times and they are still noisy.
