My 65 Jazz also has 6542 pot stamps.
Mine still has the original frets too, and I want to preserve them so I have flats on it even though I'm not a flats lover. I started with LTF Labellas but didnt dig their tone. Got a set of new 40-100 Dunlop flats which are same tension, and am much happier with the sound.

Sweet bass! I'm actually a big fan of the LTF Labellas sound but could understand not liking them if you are not a flats fan to begin with. I you tried Chromes?

(Apologies @lamarjones for the derail...Your bass looks lovely)

Are these those flats?
Asking because I may finally want to change out my old Chromes, and alternatives are good.
What didn't you like about the tone of the LaBellas?

Yes thats them. They have all the flexibility and low tension of the LTF's, but the LTF's just sounded too plastic-y. The Dunlops sound like a metal string should.

Thanks man! What kind of strings do you have up there?

My bass has been well played and refretted by me once and previous owner at least once. Those are Daddario nickel.

My friend and former teacher Jeff Andrews and I went around nyc and picked this bass after trying many old Basses for sale. I have recorded with it too. I’m sure yours will kill it in the studio.
