NBD-All the way from Japan(Squier Jazz)

Got this Non-Export 1993-94 Squier Jazz today. It really has a gorgeous neck and sounds great even un-plugged.

Have you taken the pickguard off to see if there's any routing?

You are correct. there's no visible Grain showing. I guess it was common for the Silver series of that Era. I believe this is all the "Jazz" anyone could want or need. Honestly, The '87 is probably a nicer bass overall but this neck is near perfect.

87 and 93 always seem to stand out as especially good years for Japanese Fenders. I'm sure the same applies to the Squiers.

Thanks, The seller called it "rare" but I didn't really know why. Maybe that's what they meant.

I think they might be kinda rare. I'm check out the GC used site pretty much every day just to see if anything special pops up and I see way more MIJ Fenders than MIJ Squiers.

Cool, I was just looking at a "Real" 60's Fender with the same finish. It's amazingly similar. I am glad I pulled the trigger on this one. Even though I am now back in the doghouse.

I've had a couple of MIJ/CIJ J-basses and the routing is damn near perfect. Not sure why Fender does not demand this of MIM manufacturing.
