NBD Another killer Schecter

Hey TB, I discoved the wonderful world of Schecter a few years ago. I've owned at least 200 basses over the years (I know, insanity) of all different brands and models. Schecters are unbelievably consistent and high quality. Their fit/finish and construction is easily on par with my American Fenders. I've owned several Model Ts, Stilettos, PS, Js and others.
Today we'll focus on my newest, the Stage 4. Maple neck thru with graphite reinforcement, mahogany body, MM pickups and a 3 band eq. Playability is off the charts. The back of the neck is satin, jazz width nut, jumbo frets. It's a slapper, tapper, etc. So fast. The tone is so much like a G&L L2000. The stock pickups are wound in series. Bump the mids, back off the treble and it's 90% an L2K. I decided to wire the pickups in series to tame the beast and get more high end. Holy smokes! It's got more clarity than my Warwick now. I got this for a steal as a backup to my neck thru Stingray HH. Wired in parallel it gives a similar vibe, just what I was looking for. The eq is fine, nothing special but also not noisy or too intrusive. Overall I'd highly recommend this bass over the plethora of other dual humbucker basses in this price range.

Schecters are one of the most underrated bass brands on the market. Schecter is just as diverse as Ibanez, in my opinion. Lots of options from classic to contemporary styles of bass. I didn't know Schecter made a Stingray style of bass. Your new bass is awesome. I really like the Schecter Model-T Session P/J... I may get one of those someday. Here's my new Schecter Stargazer 12-string....

In my early days of playing, before I knew how to do setups and tweak instruments to my liking, I often gravitated to Schecter. I’ve never picked up one at a store that wasn’t comfortable and ready to play. Whereas Fender was often the opposite. Back then I wondered why Schecter could do that but not other brands. Still do.

Fender is my preferred look and sound, but Schecter always punches way above its price range.

Congrats on your new bass OP! Enjoy it and play it in good health!

I have a Schecter SLS C1 Evil Twin guitar. It's my first six string guitar and I love it! Schecter has become my brand of choice for guitars after comparing them to Fender, Gibson, Epiphone, Gretsch, and other guitar brands at my local GC. My guitar plays well above its price point and better than some even more expensive guitars! :D I have tried the bass version of the SLS and it reminds me of an active Jazz Bass tonally. I'd get one over an FSO if I were after that kind of tone.

Interesting, thanks.

I'm a double humbucker kind of guy (all my basses have 2 HB), and I've never thought about Schekter, in fact I hardly know the brand.
I love the L2000 tone, so your write up makes me willing to try one of these, even if they are 3 x the price of my Tribute L2000.

3x the price? I got it for $300 used, there are similar deals out there.
