I believe you are correct but I got one of the last “stock” basses before they went up. Seems like the price went up quite a bit after NAMM.I checked their website and the starting price is $2500. Is that correct or did I read that wrong?
I sold it. Couldn’t get used to the headless thing. Sounded great though. If they're $2500USD then get a Maruszczyk Headless Frog like mine, with three-position humbucker switches (single, series, parallel) and Delano XTender pickups + five strings and custom everything. I bought mine for $3250 Canadian which is less than $2500 USD for something hand made and bespoke to me.
YMMV. Personally if this bass was $1200 USD I'd probably buy it, but until it proves itself and its quality control, I wouldn't. I also won't buy an American fender having played a small pile of them and finding them no better in quality than their less expensive lines.
There's suddenly two reviews of these on my Youtube feed today, which brought me here. Nate Navarro's review of one is pretty compelling from the standpoint of flexibility and overall tone, but I think that guy could make a cigar box build sound great.
Curious what it was you couldn't get used to.Couldn’t get used to the headless thing.
Not sure how to describe it but something just didn’t feel natural to me when I reached for the lower frets. Likely more of a mental thing.Curious what it was you couldn't get used to.
