NBD: because I wanna

I bought the American Pro P bass back in February and was blown away by the build quality and tone. I've developed a seriously unnatural affection for it.

Having sold a lot of dud gear recently and ... well, just because I wanna, I thought that I should round out the collection with a Jazz. I decided that if I could find a parking space near the music shop I'd probably buy it (after seeing it online) and if not I'd go home and just look at bass-porn on the web. I got a space a block away, the result is pictured.

I'm not a big fan of the neck but it's something I have to get used to. That and the un-P like tone. I'm still looking for a Custom Shop P but this will do for the moment (and I mean a moment).

That's gorgeous! Has the transition from Precision to Jazz been easy for you...neck wise?
Not really a good transition so far. I've got fairly stupid fingers and there's not a lot of real estate at the first few frets. I could probably get through a gig but I'd have to concentrate. And this is one of the reasons I got it, get used to different necks.

It'll get better. It's amazing how the slightly narrower neck on the Jazz is so much different than the P bass. I'm going through that now. Today, I scored a Squier Jaguar that seems to have a Jazz profile. Theoretically, it should be easier to play, right? No that simple, as I'm finding out. LOL But I'll get it and so will you!
