I am the fortunate custodian to this brand new Canadian beauty!

This is a REIMER JETT 4 Model bass, built by luthier and bassist extraordinaire Dave Reimer in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Dave has been hand building incredible solid body and acoustic instruments for years in Vancouver for many west coast and international musicians, and I am lucky enough to have owned several over the years.

This one is super lightweight swamp ash (sub 8 lbs), with a gorgeous maple/rosewood neck, and features Dave’s own handwound Jazz Bass pickups into an East Retro preamp. Light relic lacquer finish in antique white. Gotta love the hand cut plexi finger rest that Dave makes as well!

I currently own another Reimer build as well which sees many shows, but I have to say this may become my #1 live bass pretty quickly!

I can’t say enough about my new Reimer Bass, and certainly can’t put it down. So far I’ve played one show on it through my Traynor YBA300 and dual Aguilar 1x12’s, and it absolutely slays.

That is very cool and I would think has a very full sound with that preamp. Congratulations.

Thanks man. Yeah this pre really does create a full, wide sound when needed. I love that it does a traditional jazz tone as well. The sweepable mids are fantastic.

How’s this bass a couple years down the road? Thinking of giving Dave a call and getting going on one.

How’s this bass a couple years down the road? Thinking of giving Dave a call and getting going on one.

That bass was amazing, but I started hunting for something a little different for some different projects, so Ive been in talks about another bass by Dave. I ended up trading that one, knowing I had a new vision in mind. I cant wait to get the next one going this spring hopefully. I highly recommend his work, and he is such a good dude.
