Hey folks,

I've been waiting a long time for this day. I ordered this back in December and only got it in my hands tonight. It's an all-aluminium build.





Opening the chest:

I'll post more pictures tomorrow with proper lighting, but so far I just LOVE the look and texture of the body (matte black powder-coated front, black wrinkled back). I was already familiar with the neck since I got a Fender Precision with an EGC bolt-on neck with the same brushed finish and block inlays back in February.

However, the all-aluminium construction makes it seem like the whole body resonates with even the slightest touch of the strings; you'd think there's a small speaker hidden somewhere inside.

Sadly I won't be able to try it out with an amp before Sunday when I'll be flying this home. The wait is already killing me..

I had a EGC Series Two bass (first one ever made) many years ago, had to sell it when I bought a appartment. Now I get by with a EGC necked T40, but I'm still craving that all aluminum bass feel again!

Yes body too.

No clue about neckdive yet, as I don't have a belt with me I'll be using a Mono Betty strap though, it helped a lot with my bolt-on.

Not sure about the exact weight either, it's got to be between 5 and 6kg.

Nice one! Been gassing for an EGC for some time now, thanks TB, but unfortunately they don't make six strings...

Oh, and great taste in music. The Ocean is a killer group.

I'd love to own an Obstructures bass some day, they look amazing!

So after playing it at home, I'm happy to say there is no neck-dive when used with the Mono Betty strap. The tone is simply killer, love the weight of the low B as well as the clarity of the higher strings.

Looking forward to testing it out in the studio at proper volume.
