NBD Fender Blacktop Jazz Bass 2013

It’s been a long time since I posted here, but I wanted to share this.
2013 Blacktop stripped and finished with Tru-Oil.
Fender 62 in the bridge, Wilkinson Alnico V in the neck. 920D stacked pot harness.
Fender high mass bridge, Abalone inlays and WD pickguard.
Original finish was beat up with poorly done drop fills. This is the one bass I never should have sold, finding a mint replacement near impossible and very expensive.

Do you still have the stock pickups and the original, high-mass bridge or did it come unloaded?

The original pickups are long gone. It came with two 1/4 pound pickups when I took ownership. Those got transferred to my Aerodyne and a Frankenstein P.
The high mass bridge was replaced by a regular Fender bent bridge, hence the Fender High Mass that I had in the parts drawer.
I love QPs but they just didn’t blend well together. The Wilkinsons will be replaced eventually. Although they are fine as is.
Whoever owned it before my friend got it, did some very poor drop fills in the finish and the finish was chock full of dents and dings.

I also stripped it, but mine didn't go so well. I used a heat gun and I was unaware that there was a veneer on the top and back of these. Still rocked it though.

That's an interesting look. You can tell people that you really got going one night playing over the bridge p'up, and the wood spontaneously combusted from the friction!
