NBD: Fender Road Worn Mike Dirnt Precision

I've been attempting to sell my EGC aluminum P-Bass after coming to the conclusion that I simply prefer standard Fenders. So, with that bass listed on the usual sites, I went out shopping for a new Fender to replace it with. Spent a full day in Chicago hitting up the usual spots, and wound up at Chicago Music Exchange. The EGC hasn't sold yet, but I still went in like a kid in a candy store, knowing I basically had my pick of anything in the store save for the really vintage stuff. The first bass I tried was a brand new Fender Mike Dirnt P-Bass. Lately I've fallen in love with the slab Tele-style body of the early 50's P-Basses, so this one intrigued me immediately. It felt perfect in my hands and it sounded even better. But, there were others to try out. And I tried a lot of them. Assorted vintage and Custom Shop Fender P's, J's, a regular MIM 50's style P with the single coil pickup, a Lakland PJ, a 70's Rickenbacker, a new Ric, a Nash PB, and probably a few more that I'm forgetting. All throughout this several hour process, after trying any of the aforementioned basses, I kept going back to grab the Dirnt off the wall and plug it in. This was the one and I couldn't deny it. So, I put myself slightly into debt and took it home. When the EGC finally sells I can pay this one off. I just couldn't leave it there. It had something special that I really loved. I got to play a show with it last weekend and it was crushing, in the best possible way. It gives such a massive, awesome sound and it feels like an extension of myself. So I think I made the correct decision.

If I have one gripe, it's that I'm not 100% in love with the white finish. It's REALLY white. But I'm sure that with it being a nitro finish, and the fact that it is going to get played a lot and spend a lot of time in the company of smokers, that it will start to yellow fairly quickly.
