NBD - First bass for a guitar player...

OK, so technically I got it yesterday, but this is the fist chance I've had to get a pic... I'm a guitar player looking for something new, so I figured cheap was a good way to start.

Picked up this ('08 Indonesian, Cort factory, if I understand the serial # decoding right) Squier Affinity Jazz Bass for $100 at a local pawn shop. Still has the original pick guard protective cover on it.

Great choice as a first bass. If you find one that feels good there are plenty of readily available upgrades like pickups, preamps (If you want one), tuning machines, bridges, pickguards...

I’ve never been to a pawn shop that would sell a used bass like that for less than $100 over MSRP.

btw: you’re gonna need ultralite strings if you’re planning on playing double stops and lightning fast leads, otherwise it’s gonna sound muddy. Lol. Enjoy!

Ha! Probably going to go through a lot of strings before I have to worry about that

Picked up a G-K Backline 115 today for $60. I know they don't get a lot of love here, but at that price I couldn't resist.
