I explained to him how nice those basses are and how sought out they are by quite a few players. I asked him if he could bring it out one night and let me check it out as I've never actually seen one in person.

Fast forward to last nights gig. They came out with a few of their friends and Seth said "hey man, your guitarist let me in the back stage area, I left you something in the back." Confused I went to check it out. I saw a black case and opened it up to find the Thunderchief! I looked to him in pure shock and awe. He said it simply collects dust at his house and he feels it should belong to me. All he wanted in return was for me to enjoy it! I'm still in disbelief. I've never received such an awesome gift from someone.

So, I played an acoustic gig with my singer last night. The Tacoma was awesome. It's currently strung up with elixir phosphor bronze strings, which I love when playing by myself, but don't like when playing with an acoustic guitar. The guitar and bass were almost "clashing". As if they were both voiced in the same frequency. Would stringing it up with flats likely fix that??

May depend more on what the guitar player was doing than your bass strings. Do you dislike those strings with acoustic guitar only last night or have you tried before? Was guitar player playing differently beccause of the context? Did guitarist eq the low end way up? (They tend to do that on"acoustic" shows)

On the flip side I might guess flats would help, but I am not convinced that the problem wasn't two sided.

He didn't have a lot of lows EQ'd in his guitar. I guess what I'm saying is the elixirs on my bass seem to have more high mids than they do thump. I need less of the mids and more of the fundamental. I couldn't even EQ my bass to achieve that last night.
