NBD G&L CLF L1000

Just got this G&L CLF L1000 in the mail today. I wasn't sure about the Rally Red but I'm really digging it. It sounds amazing.

Congratulations! I picked up one of these last month in Pharaoh Gold. There’s one side of me that can’t understand why anyone is still buying American made Precision’s with a bass like this available to them for the same or less money. On the other hand, I like their underground status.

Straight out of the box the bass played very well. I had an issue with a tuning peg that rattled but G&L took care of that ASAP. I’ll give it a thorough and proper setup when I put on the Thomastik’s I have for it.

It plays great straight out the box. I really wanted the Pharoahs mist but this was the only one left. I've owned a few recent American P basses and they were good but it's no contest with this bass. I've had a 3 different 80s G&Ls( 1 L1000 2 L2000s) this one compares well to them though it's not exactly the same. This one was well worth the money.

I hear you. I was contemplating an American Original '60's Precision. I had played a couple at the GC and thought they were great but then I came across the CLF L1000. Like you owned an L1000, a 1980 almost 40 years ago and knew all too well that they crushed a Precision in terms of versatility. I couldn't be happier. Fresh out of the box mine played great as well. I plan on spending some time doing the small adjustments when I finally dump the D'Addario's that came on it. When, exactly, that will be, I don't know. I'm having too much fun playing the damn thing right now!!!

Same here on the strings. I've been playing it every chance I get since it came in yesterday. Until the last few years I wasnt a fan of the maple neck but after a Geddy Lee signature then this one I really like them.
