I'm both impressed and surprised. Impressed at the quality for the price, and surprised that I like it as much as I do. I am primarily a J bass player, but with the 5 combinations from the switch, I get hum tones and something usable for single coil tones too. The 3 band pre gives additional flexibility of course. I know this is just a copy of a Music Man, but it has, I think, helped me understand the attraction to the Music Mans, which is why I got this bass in the first place.

I have a lot of basses, all value-priced, that I bought basically to help me understand what the different configurations/designs do. The Music Man style was left to now because I fully expected to not like them. Well that and until I found these Harley Bentons I didn't have a value-priced example.

I actually bought the MB-4 (the bass on the right in the first 2 pics) first. And even though it's passive, and wired VVT with a volume control for each coil, the flexibility I found there made me want to try an active dual pup version. Really, both of these are good values!
