NBD: I call him Whale

I've long been interested in StingRays, but have really only played Ps and Js (and one Ricky), so this is a really big day for me. Scored a great deal on this 2018 StingRay Special in Ghostwood from a really friendly buyer on Reverb. All-around great experience!

I spent an hour playing unplugged, just getting the feel of the bass, and I was immediately blown away by the fit, feel and finish.

And then I plugged in. Ho. Ly. %&*@.
What an incredible range of sounds I can pull from this beauty. Can't wait to get to know it better over the coming months.

I took some close-up shots to try to get the different "hues of Ghostwood", so to speak. It's silver, it's got gold flakes, it seems almost bronze at times. I live in the Silver State, so we'll go for silver.

Nice bass and cool color. I have a Fender 75th Anniversary Jazz Bass and the color is called Diamond Anniversary. It also is a silver color with gold flakes in it which makes it look more gold than silver to me. I really like how the color looks in person more so than in pictures. Yours seems similar-ish. Nice score.

Thanks! I love those 75th Anniversary Fenders. Great looking basses.

Nice looking bass, I'll bet it's a joy to play. Congrats!

IMO... you only need 3 basses; a P, a J, and a Stingray. Pretty much covers all the "bases". Nice thumper!
Throw in an L2K, and you've got Leo's first, middle and last words on the bass guitar.

I love mine. I liked it, but wasn't sure I would like it as much as my Plus Top Limited Edition Blue Burst. I was wrong, I actually pick it up more. The color is really cool.

I have not gigged it in the last 3 weeks because I also picked up an EBMM Stingray Special HH in HD Yellow which has been taken out more due to it being new of course. But I would definitely recommend to anyone to try out the new 75th Anniversary and the Stingray Special. Excellent basses IMHO.
