NBD: Ibanez Artcore / Guitar Center blues?

What to do?

Yesterday my used Ibanez AGB(V)205 came. My first impression was good. It sounds good, feels good, and has a "different kind of cool" than what I am accustomed with. It was $500 plus shipping and taxes.

I looked through the f-hole and noticed no serial number. It also says China I think. I thought it was I Indonesia but that is not my larger concern. When I inspected further there is an S stamped in the back of the headstock. One tuner is a different color is my guess. See attached pics. I hope that's all.

I really like this bass but if I were to put it on the market in the future, I would have to disclose quite plainly that it is a factory 2nd.

I am dissapointed in Guitar Center. I saw that it said "Exellent Condition" (it is) but no 2nd mentioned. I called the hotline last night and the guy was nice but was not a party to this. The shop I brought it from was closing and my concern was not a concern at that moment. The guy said I could return it. That's all I got as he wanted to get out of there for the night. I understand.

I was busy today, but tomorrow I think another call may be on my agenda.

Also, does this bass take 34 scale strings? It has DR Legends (flats) on - I like them, but I have GHS Pressurewounds coming any day now. Same with a 6er string set of DR Dragon Skins. A high C option with the Dragon Skins may be a good choice. I could also slap the DR Dragons on my 6er which would free up a set of Elixir Nickles that have plenty of life left. Low B or high C with either set. Low B with Pressurewounds. Interesting.

I'm torn on this. Advice?

I added a poll. Couldn't hurt.

I have the 2013 version of this bass (Dark Violin Sunburst). Absolutely love it, such a joy to play.

Yes.

The Low B is decent, but it'll never sound as good as on a longer scale bass. EADGC suits the scale and spacing and tone of the instrument so much more I reckon.

Bass looks great
The ‘S’ indicates it’s a second
Can you tell why its a second?
If not, then keep it because no one else will know either
The price is a good price
FullCompass still sells hardshell cases for these
