NBD: Ministar Basstar

Well the thread is a little old, but must be kept around for some reasons, and this is one.
I am wondering, have they gone out of business - Ministar - ?. Just not seeing them in the numbers they once appeared in on auction sites.
The neck on these were crazy good for the money....and I also expected I could get additional models on the used marked for cheap.
Nope, never could. People knew they were good instruments and the best for travel.

I recently got a second hand one, minus the adjustable bridge and headphone preamp...which means it's one of the chinese knock-offs

Nice purchase. I've played a few of these over the years and they always sound better than I expect. Definitely better than you'd expect for $100.
This is something I actually thought of quite a few times over the years. When it comes to portable instruments I eventually bought a 24" microbass. I rarely used it though and when I travel I use it as an excuse to give some time to the lap steel so it got sold and I haven't felt the need for one since.
