The decal looks off in terms of placement. I do relics and customize basses. That's my favorite logo - the 70's style. It looks like S.D. 1/4 pounder pickups. Is it a PJ bass? Is the "P" pickup also an SD? What are the pots/harness? I typically buy Fender parts (tuners/bridge) & custom harnesses to upgrade Squiers and then trick them out. This one has some decent upgrades. If it was cheap, and it works (neck straight) and sounds good, then cool. But if you bought it thinking it's a USA Fender, I'd say no at this point. Also, neck end and neck pocket pics could help.

No Sir it has DiMarzio P pickups. I have not pulled the pre amp yet also have not pulled the neck. I plan on it this weekend when I get some time. It plays absolutely great, no dead frets anywhere, all 4 strings equal sound, the neck is very straight. I was hoping it was a USA but I know now it's not, pretty sure it's a parts bass but it plays and sounds great. I'll get some pics of the pre amp and neck off and post them. Thank you so much for the information.

I bought this bass, the first thing that drew me to it was the looks, after further inspection I was just curious. It has no serial number which is a red flag however the neck looks American, has DiMarzio P pickups and Seymour Duncan J pickup. I don't have a lot of money in it and that may be a good thing as I'm not really sure whey it is. I have NOT pulled the neck or pre amp. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, $34, versus about $125 for the Fender Schaller tuners. I suspect they are cheap, possibly cast (pot) metal, chromed? The Schallers are quality, hold up well, but they do contribute to neck dive.

According to other guitar forums , Schaller stopped being the supplier to fender. It's supposed to be Ping now, so unbranded ones are close in price to guyker.

You can still buy the Schaller's online. They are sold as "Fender F-stamped tuners" for $125, and are a drop in replacement for my '90 Jazz Plus, though they have cloverleaf tuners instead of the lollypops I have.

If I ever replaced mine I would go with lighter weight tuners, probably Hipshot Ultralights, and accept the fact that I had to drill holes in my headstock.
