G&L L-2500 Series 750
I’m usually playing a Lull, sometimes a Spector for certain situations...However for Something completely different I really like these basses.
To me one thing that makes G&L a G&L so to speak is MFD pickups. I’m usually a Nordstrand guy, but this is a different animal.
I have no idea why they’re not more popular in the hard rock and metal areas because there’s a certain grind these pick ups that really work for that style of music. With that being said it would work for anything.
I will also say that the “Big Chonk” have an excellent tone and a little bit different from a regular L-2500 with all that neck mass from the 19mm spacing. The sound is fuller sounding so-to-speak.
I got to try one and the first prototype when I was in California back in January and I was very impressed.
I’m not usually a fan of 19mm string spacing but this felt fine.
