NBD Peavey Foundation

Well I picked up the Foundation I ordered the other day. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's a maple body. It's 6 pieces of flame maple that all have alot of movement in them, the flame not the pieces. Really a visually striking bass. I've not seen this many pieces of flame maple on one body and honestly didn't know how it would look in person. I'm impressed and it's definitely cool and unique. I kinda expected it to be a bit heavier and it's not light, I was expecting it to be a bit over 10lbs and it's righg at 9lbs. So that's cool too.
It also came to me with flatwound strings that appear to be at least fairly new. I've never had flatwounds before and I gotta say they are fantastically comfortable to play and I'm loving the sound as well. This bass with these strings is a great combination that so far works fine with everything I've played on it which was a wide sample, Suicidal Tendencies, Beach Boys, GnR, Frankie Vallie (sp?) some disco stuff and it did fine with all of it. Definitely different than what I'm used to but totally cool.
Very pleased with this one!
Here's some pics.

This is a must have IMO.

Extra credit for MADE in the USA, not Handcrafted. I believe Made was only on the earliest ones…1983 I bet!!
I think this one is a 1984. This is a Peavey serial number chart that I'm pretty sure I got here on TB. My sn starts with 0170xxxx and depending on the accuracy of the chart it would make it an early 84. Early at any rate.
