NBD, Revelation RBJ-67

This bass sounded so nice, it ended up coming home with me! Must be split coils in this baby, NO HUM !
I just need a tort pickgaurd to match my 60th anniversary Strat.

I tried one once in Denmark Street, was definitely worth the price tag - FYI, I have their Bass VI take and the fact that they didn't copy the Fender model but did their own twist was a selling point for me.

How is it like fret-wise? Mine had some sharper ends, something I already took into account to smoothen.

I can't remember if it hummed like a single coil J set, but IIRC it was definitely on the hot side and quite full sounding, so I wouldn't be surprised. I read that those Entwistle-designed Js are ceramics, do that might be the reason too.

The fret ends were already cleaned up by the shop I bought it from. ( The Guitar Boutique, Bethany Ontario )
The Entwistle pickups are their Neodymium magnet offering. They do everything from punchy to warm vintage tones, quite well.
The overall build is what you'd expect from Squier level pricing. The odd minor rough edge, slightly.loose neck joint.... Nice paint and awesome neck, though.

Owned the RPBXN, it had 2 Entwistle Neo split-Ps. Man I regret selling that bass

Revelation have great people working behind the scenes, Alan Entwistle is on hand as design consultant. No surprise there, Revelation formed from the old Hohner guitar company where Alan headed the design dept

Just an update;

When the wife was out yesterday, I was able to crank up the volume. There is some single coil hum, but much less noticeable than my Fender jazz basses.

The pickups are indeed pretty hot. I'm quite impressed with this bass overall.

Yep, something about vintage white and a mint guard I really like. I have a G&L SB-2T like that. PJ pups. I saw this one after just recently finding out about Revelation and was looking for a J bass but not interested in the usual choice... saw this and boing! Plus its weird but the Bass Gallery in London is a 15 min walk for my brother there. What a world. just hope he doesn’t get too attached...
