That knot in the back would bug the crap out of me.
What a coincidence! I was just eye-balling that Ric in the background of the Bunny v Lakland review you just posted to the /r/bass subreddit. That this is lovely.WOW! Gorgeous Rick! You lucked out with that one in the looks department. Honestly, most of the W's and SW's look a little plain jane, but the ones with the gorgeous figuring in the walnut and/or maple just transform the instrument IMO.
Here's my SW.

I like the black pick guard!
It does go to center and I can feel the detent but it feels softer going to the neck compared to the bridge.
Hi guys I just a new Rick which is also my first U.S made bass and I'm pretty excited about it!! So I figured I'd post it and share my experience.
The natural wood looks stunning!
Nice! Love those walnut RICs. Wish I waited before getting my mapleglo. I enjoy the mapleglo but ways wanted a bass made of walnut.
I got one of these yesterday...new/mint some guy had from 2015 he didn't play much. I gotta say this bass is one awesome bass, Rickenbacker outdid themselves on this one. I also own a Ric 4003 maple glo but this one has a "MORE" of a ric sound to it. I can't put this thing down. slapped some rotosound 45-105 on it and away we go. only slight issue is I had to file two bone hole slots out just a tad so the strings would fit...I just took a bass string and used it to file down and the slots so strings \would perfect and the bass sound is beyond incredible through the system I run it throughHi guys I just a new Rick which is also my first U.S made bass and I'm pretty excited about it!! So I figured I'd post it and share my experience. I'm use to playing fenders and I've actually only crossed paths with one other 4003 which didn't impress me much but it was also from a music store which sold a lot of "b-stock" items. So I felt compelled and just bought one online didn't even test it out haha crazy I know. But I'm thoroughly impressed maybe listening to roundabout made me get the itch! One thing though if anyone can answer, is the pickup selector suppose to be "fast" when switching from the bridge to neck? It almost flys from bridge to neck passing the center.
