NBD Road Worn Precision!

I've been jonesing after a 50s Precision for a while (the new Fenders, not an ACTUAL 50s P). Of all the Ps I've played, it's the one that most nails that organic woody sound I like.

As such I've been keeping my eye out for good deals on a used one. I was mostly looking at the "Classic 50s" basses but occasionally drooled over the Road Worn. I initially thought those silly, but they just look and, more importantly, feel really good to me.

I randomly did a search in Guitar Center's used inventory online and saw a used "50s Classic" for $599. A decent deal. So I clicked on it only to see pics of what was clearly a Road Worn 50s. I'm guessing it was mislabeled. So I called them up and asked about it. Managed to negotiate another $25 off and got a sweet Road Worn P in Fiesta Red for $575. Score!!!

Got it yesterday, took it to band practice and I already love it! I felt like I could hear myself really well but wasn't booming everyone out. Love those mids! Action is a little high and the wide neck does slow me down a bit (used to a Jazz) but I'm not busting any Jaco solos in the band anyway. This thing is exactly what I wanted.

Pics and a new family portrait.
