NBD - Schecter Daniel Firth sig

Got this in a couple days ago: Schecter Daniel Firth Hellraiser Extreme-5 Signature. That’s a mouthful. Probably not for everybody, but this thing ticks a lot of boxes for me. I’m in love with the color, the quilted top, and the satin finish. Even my wife commented on how it looks when she saw it hanging on the wall (she usually just rolls her eyes when something new shows up). I dig the Fishman pickups, and especially like how they used an EMG 3 band eq instead of the two band Fishman one. I love the binding, the 35” scale, and, by my measurements, has a 17mm string spacing at the bridge which is perfect for me. Oh, and the inlays. The cross ones on the regular models seem so tacky to me, but I love the blocks on the ebony board. And as a Lovecraft fan I appreciate that the color is called “Cthulhu Burst.”

I like Cradle of Filth, but I didn’t go seeking the bass out because of the band. I randomly stumbled across it online a couple weeks ago, judged a book by its cover, and I’m glad I did. Definitely feels and sounds (and looks!) as good or better than other instruments that cost a lot more.

Excuse the amateur hour photos. They probably don’t do it justice but it’s too hard for me to get a decent photoshoot with the kiddos running around. And when they go to sleep I just want to play it, not take pictures of it.

Well update cancelled the C-5 GT and decided on one of these. Two big reasons is it has a 3 band EQ instead of 2 band EQ which give me mids along with the bass/treble and has mahogany body. I like some weight to my basses. Hope you are still enjoying it. Need to see a video of it on Youtube since there really isn't any good ones really.
