NBD: So much thump

Traded in a Guild Pilot 5 string for this as new Hofner HCT 500/2 the other day, my first foray into short scale bass, and wow, I had no idea there would be so much low end thump. Super comfortable to play with the short scale and lightweight. These are very nice MIC basses, anyone on the fence would be pleased with this instrument. I've already added teacup knobs and darkened the finish on the pickguard and control plate, as well as took off the Contemporary Series wording on the truss rod cover, now just need to get some white switches and good to go.

never liked the control plate on this type but with the single cutaway it seems to be ...ok lol I'm way overdue for some short scales, congrats on your new thump machine! I tried an older Guild Pilot once and luvd it, why'd you get rid of yours?
