I have no idea how I ended up with this thing. I hate white basses, I dont like gold hardware and I prefer a P bass to a Jazz. I went in to GC to get the CV 60s P bass in Sonic Blue thats on sale right now and I thought I might as well look at a Jazz too since I was there. This one was sitting right by me so I just picked it up with zero intentions of buying it.

Long story short, I kept going back and forth between this and the P bass and this one just felt right. It was just perfectly set up with low action, neck felt great and it sounded amazing thru an Ampeg RB-110 I also had zero intent in buying, wanted the Rumble 40 (previous Rumble 500 owner) but I couldn't believe how good the new Ampeg's sound, worlds better than the older BA series which was awful IMO. So I went in to get the 60s P bass and Rumble and left with this Jazz bass and an Ampeg, day was full of surprises and I love both.

Ive owned about 6 Squier basses over the years but they have really stepped up their game recently. This is without question the nicest. Feels like they threw everything they had into these 40th anniversary basses. The neck, pick ups, build quality...its nicer than any MIM Fender Ive owned or played and right up there with the MIJ models Ive owned. Worth every bit the $599 IMO.

That is fricken beautiful!
I would have trouble walking away from it.
I also went to GC to look at something else when this bass caught my eye. After going back and fourth with it I ended up buying it. After owning and gigging it for a few weeks I ended up getting the Ruby Red Metallic as well. These basses are really nice. Great quality, great sound and already set up perfectly. Excellent bass and I'm not even a Squier guy.

Pretty much the opposite of my story, went home with the Olympic White CV 60's P for the same reasons. Set up was a dream and it nailed what I wanted.

I totally support your decision. When it's right it's right.

looks good, i like the brushed alum PG on that.....i never liked white basses or gold hardware either, but now i own a white PJ with block inlay neck and bartolini's...its my favorite player. And now considering a t-bird build with gold hardware:thumbsdown:;)

Congratulations. Funny how life sometimes paves roads we never thought we drive down. I never thought I would own a 5 string or a short scale bass, until I tried a short scale 5 string. Guess who owns 4 of them now.:woot:
Again, congrats on a very nice looking bass.
